Albuquerque
Storms
When is a storm an element of style? When it is found
in Albuquerque, New Mexico! I enjoy
the dramatic shows that evening storms display (when they do occur). The
light shows often come to brief and electrifying climaxes of hues, shapes,
and scale unlike anything I've ever witnessed before.
I caught this photo while driving on Central Avenue (the old Route 66
that runs through Albuquerque) between Coors Ave. and Unser Ave. For about
two minutes the sky had this dramatic display as the sunset's afterglow
met the impending storm clouds. What drama! What style! Albuquerque style!
For all you tech heads: This photo was shot with
a Panasonic Lumix FZ20 at 1/60s, F8, at 400ASA. It was taken handheld.
The optical stabilizing feature does a great job on low light shots like
this! The digital noise was removed using Noiseware.
