Just Outside of Albuquerque . . .

Want to take a breather away from the city? In Albuquerque you don't have to go far! In fact, the moment you drive past the city limits, you are in open country . . . wide open country!

As a New Yorker, I am used to a city surrounded by suburbs; urban sprawl that goes on and on and on . . . In Albuquerque, the city is surrounded by beautiful open spaces rich in color and shape, with glorious mesas and mountain ranges as backdrops. There are Indian Reservations, Pueblos, ranches, and isolated towns sprinkled across this amazing expanse of land.

I tell friends that I can see God's hand in this land. It has a rugged beauty that speaks of the sheer power of creation. It speaks of an intelligence, a majesty far greater than our own. I never cease to be humbled by its breadth and beauty.

Left photo was taken along Interstate I-25 that runs from Albuquerque to Santa Fe. It is a sample of the breathtaking vistas one can see along the way!

Top photo was also taken on I-25 30 miles outside of Albuquerque, headed for Santa Fe.

I added a few additional photos of the land just outside Albuquerque here.
