Exposed Exterior Wood Beams

Exposed exterior beams are a traditional element of Southwest style, and are often seen in Albuquerque architecture. As the wood ages, its colors take on a patina that provides a wonderful accent to modern adobe style or stucco finished homes.

This example is from Old Town, Albuquerque. When the aged wooden beams are mated with the tan adobe color and typical southwestern decorative accents, it creates the warm, invitng palette that is essential Albuquerque style!
