Rio
Grande Botanic Garden
Albuquerque is largely in a desert environment. As a
new resident, I have grown to love the desert, and its unique flora. However,
I occasionally miss the greener environs of my New York roots. Therefore,
for me, the Rio Grande Botanic Garden is an essential
element of Albuquerque style. Why? Because it gives me just enough of
the greenery I enjoyed on the east coast to keep me from becoming homesick.
Bringing my camera to the garden and photographing whatever is in season
is one of my most enjoyable forms of relaxation. To that end, I have created
a photo essay website dedicated to the flowers of
Albuquerque, as found in the Rio Grande Botanic Garden. When winter
arrives, and everything is brown, these photos will help me to remain
content until spring.
